On March 25th, Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) Sinarmas participated in the ECCT Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) Event – 2021 International SDGs Forum, held in Taipei, Taiwan. This is to showcase the low carbon solutions and practices across a broad range of industries and sectors and to raise awareness of sustainable development. APP is pleased to bring the latest innovation through the products is one of APP’s commitments to support SDGs.
In this event, APP was introducing the innovative eco-friendly paperboard, “Foopak Bio Natura” through Butterfly Cup design. APP is specifically promoting Foopak Bio Natura as an alternative to the conventional paper cup that has plastic lining in it. The current paper cup design is very difficult to recycle due to the plastic and paper need to separate in a special recycling facility. With Foopak Bio Natura as the raw material and the design of butterfly cup, it has achieved the way that consumer can dispose of it in the best eco-friendly way, with an also innovative way to eliminate the usage of plastic straw and lid.
The participants were very interested in the innovative design and got a chance to know more about Foopak Bio Natura and Butterfly Cup design. They discussed the specifications and applications by visiting the APP Sinarmas booth and became a highlight of the events.
What makes Foopak Bio Natura special is this product has the features of recyclability, biodegradability, and compostability, and it is produced using premium quality material designed for the food and beverage industry, specifically in the foodservice industry. It has passed OK Compost Home and recyclable certification which has been certified by TUV Austria and Institute cyclos-HTP, respectively. It is safe for food and beverage direct contact certified by FDA and ISEGA testing report, plus the product is microwaveable and ovenable, suitable for foodservice in the airline, baking, and retail industry.
